First day in Istanbul! I’ll try to post a short photo recap of every single day with a maximum of ten photos per post (so you don’t have to scroll endlessly haha), but it’s very hard to select, so I guess there’ll be some additional posts in the future! Anywhere, here’s what we did on our first day, last monday. We (or at least I) decided to do go with the flow and not plan exhausting days full of sightseeing, so we ended up strolling through the city’s main shopping street, we got lost in the Grand Bazaar (a huge tourist shopping maze) and finally visited the New Mosque on our way home. It was a lovely day really, the weather is wonderful (super sunny and it’s only gonna be better the rest of the week) and I feel very relaxed for the first time in weeks. Definitely needed this vacay! Anyway, hope you like the pics!

Juice and coffee while shopping. I didn’t buy anything (yet) by the way, and I forgot the difference between latte macchiato and ‘just’ macchiato, haha!

The wonderful entrance of a church we visited accidentally.

The busy road leading up to the (even more busy) Grand Bazaar. I posted this outfit yesterday, check it out here.

Wandering through the streets.

Love the walnuts in the background!

Detail of the New Mosque during twilight.

Whuuuuutt, the mosque starts singing all of a sudden VERY LOUDLY.

Why don’t we learn anything about this kind of architecturing at school? It’s sooo beautiful!

View from the Galata Bridge. I tried a billion different settings on my camera (blindly, because I have no idea what the options do) and this pic came out best, haha <3.

LOOK AT THIS PINEAPPLE-SHRIMP SALAD (and the mojito in the background). Perfect ending of a perfect day.

Hi Anna! I totally recommend you to cut it off. I don’t know if you noticed, but I made the chop very recently and haven’t had second thoughts for a minute (even though the Netherlands aren’t that hot and humid ;)). I don’t think I’ll grow my hair long again any time soon! So, go for it and let me know what you think!
