I STARTED INVESTING IN QUALITY TIME

quality time

The boyfriend and I thought it was about time to invest a little in quality time together. Since my studies are a lot less demanding than last year (yay for my survival!) and his work schedule is extremely relaxed, we should have a lot of spare time to spend with each other. Should have yes, because in reality, we often feel like we don’t, which is weird. Most of the time, this is due to the fact that we don’t deliberately plan to do something fun together. And then what happens is that we both do our own stuff in slow-mo tempo, leaving no extra time to do unplanned fun stuff. So lately, we decided to put a kruis in de agenda (a cross in the agenda – is that an actual saying in English as well haha?) and clear – at least once a week – a large part of the day to spend it together.

The first time we did this was on a Saturday morning: we woke up late, put on some comfy weekend wear, jumped on our bicycles and cycled through all these little streets in Utrecht we never visited before, in search of the perfect place to have coffee and breakfast. We found it at a place called Zwart Goud (“black gold” – if that isn’t promising?), which is furnitured with stuff you can actually buy (that’s always a cool concept I think). However, we didn’t have the chance to look at all the vintage tables and chairs, because it was so sunny we could still sit outside on a small terrace (next to a flower shop, so pretty)! The coffee was good, as was our food. There were little options when it comes to food, but I think that usually is a good sign. And I love it when they serve yoghurt and muesli, it makes me feel at home instantly. Fun fact: the owner told us the place opened just four months ago and shortly afterwards, he was introduced to the concept of “blogging” and “food/hotspot bloggers”. He told us various bloggers really helped him to attract the kind of visitors he liked. Such a cool thing to hear!

Ehh yeah, I already drank my water before taking this pic HAHA. Cycling makes me thirsty.

After our super relaxed breakfast we searched for a nice place to photograph my weekend wear outfit and we suddenly needed to hurry, because the weather was changing.

The reddish-pink house got my approval, so we did a shoot and returned home (find the result of the shoot here, by the way). It was already four o’clock when we got back, but it was so good to finally forget all about to do lists and just go-with-the-flow. We actually immediately planned another quality-time date, of which I will ofcooooouuurse show you pictures as well. Now I really feel like I need to learn more about my camera, because I love it to take it with me on days like these! #creatingmemories etc.
;)

Hope you liked this relaxed post and happy Sunday!
